Even though you don't see them all the time, there are some pretty great muni drivers out there. This is especially true when you consider all the abuse some take and how crappy the job could be. It seems like the drivers who are ok at their jobs, are friendly, and can speak fluent English usually end up driving the routes with lots of tourists while the rest of the city generally gets the other drivers. I'm not sure if this is some kind of self-selection of good drivers being able to advance and choose more desirable routes or a policy of muni so as not to get tourists more comfortable. It's nice to hear about a good driver in a non-tourist area. Bravo.
