July Post of the Month — The Proof-of-Payment Game

Did you spot a Muni fare inspector this month? Chances are you did. So did Plug1, who sent us a post about the stepped-up Proof-of-Payment situation, our most popular post in July.

Stepping off of a T train, Plug1 encountered no less than 10 SFMTA Fare Inspectors, accompanied by four officers from the SFPD. He also chatted up Robert Wolfgang, the new security & transit fare inspection manager.  Read the post and see more pics of the fare dragnet here.

You might remember that in mid-July, Muni promised a crackdown on farre evasion. By many accounts, the enforcements might be working, but you might be wondering why we don’t see the inspectors on the bus you ride every day. I sure did. Check out Eve’s post on today’s SFAppeal on why inspectors are only cracking down on metro trains.

On a lighter note, coming in closely behind Plug1′s post is Sonia’s story on a hot Muni striptease! Incidentally, this also happened on the T-Third:

Even though the train was crowded, a woman in her tiny shorts, halter top and stripper heels decided to treat the handrail like a stripper pole. She lifted herself up and swung her leg over the railing, hanging upside down. David: “OK, G-String Diva, we get it. Now, which one of your relatives touched you?”

I only dream of being as witty as David one day…
