All right, I’ll confess: I like reading the Craigslist Missed Connections section. Somehow I think that somebody must have noticed the unique way I wear my hoodie and my meaningful, fleeting eye contact. I guess the underlying hope is that some day somebody is going to write one about me. Am I an ego maniac or closet romantic? You tell me. And before you roll your eyes at how cheesy this all is, you know you’ve looked at Missed Connections and felt a little bit that way.

And what better place to have a missed connection than Muni, where you are stuck staring at each other, having a lot of time to consider how deep your connection is with your seat mate and what identifying information you can use so that your Romeo can find you. Just this week, the Missed Connections section put out the APB for a cute redhead on the outbound M, Economist reader on the 45, and the “cute babe” on the #22 (from an admirer with no regard to punctuation).

We thought this week would be a good time to start a weekly pick of our favorite Muni Missed Connection — after all, it’s National Singles Week. But you already knew that, right? Here’s Jeff’s favorite Muni Missed Connection from the last few days, sponsored by the color red:

Skateboarder boy at underground muni tues – w4m – 24 (downtown / civic / van ness)
Yesterday (tuesday).. You were a cute boy in maybe a red shirt and you had a skateboard. I was a redhead with a red purse listening to my ipod and being really shy aaaas usual. Sat next to you on the round cement dodad and then got on the N.. we watched each other as it pulled away like something out of a goddamn movie… lol. it was awesome.
