Your Weekend Transit Advisory: Lunar New Year flowers, construction reroutes, the so-called big game

Lots going on this weekend. And some sort of “football” game or something, or the other. Check it out:

Chinese New Year Flower Fair
On Saturday and Sunday the Chinese New Year Flower Fair will be held in Chinatown from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday. For more event details, please visit www.sanfranciscochinatown.com.

The following Muni routes will be affected:
10 Townsend
12 Folsom-Pacific

Street Closure for Building Construction
Beginning 11 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday, 5th Street between Market and Mission streets will be closed for building construction work.

To direct traffic during the closure, there will be flaggers or SF Police Officers will be on site at the intersection of Market, Mission and Howard streets on 5th Street. Motorists travelling in this area are advised to allow extra travel time and to use alternate routes including 4th, 6th and Howard streets.

The following Muni routes will be affected:
27 Bryant
8X Bayshore Express
30 Stockton
45 Union-Stockton
91 Owl

Vietnamese Tet Festival
On Sunday the 17th annual Vietnamese Tet Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday on Larkin Street.

The 19 Polk Muni route will be affected.

San Francisco Half Marathon
On Sunday the 30th annual Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon will begin at 8 a.m. The race begins and ends in Golden Gate Park and is accompanied by a 5K Run which stays completely in the Park. For more event details, please visit www.xnet.kp.org.

Both northbound and southbound Great Highway from Fulton Street to Skyline Boulevard will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon.

18 46th Avenue
23 Monterey
33 Stanyan
43 Masonic
44 O’Shaughnessy

Super Bowl Game
On Sunday the San Francisco 49ers will play against Baltimore Ravens at the Super Bowl game in New Orleans, LA. The game will begin at 3 p.m., Pacific Standard Time. For more details, please visit www.49ers.com.

In order to minimize potential service disruptions related to the Super Bowl festivities, Muni will be detouring buses in the following areas after 5:00 p.m. on Sunday:

The 5-Fulton, 9-San Bruno, 71-Haight/Noriega, and the F-Line will operate on Mission Street between Van Ness Avenue and the Ferry Building unless otherwise noted. Buses will operate on the F-Line all day.

The 2, 6, 21, 31, 38, and 38L will terminate before Market Street. Passengers should transfer to the subway or other routes for service to Embarcadero.

2-Clement will terminate at Sutter and Sansome streets
6-Parnassus and 21-Hayes will terminate at 9th and Mission streets
31-Balboa will terminate at Mason and Eddy streets
38-Geary and 38L-Geary Limited will terminate at Cyril Magnin and Eddy streets
The 14-Mission, 14L-Mission Limited, and 49-Van Ness/Mission will operate on South Van Ness Avenue between 11th and 25th streets.
30-Stockon buses will use Lombard Street between Webster and Divisidero streets.
45-Union/Stockton will use Lombard Street between Franklin and Steiner streets.
Cable Car service will be provided by bus on the California Line and on Powell Street.
