Please Love, Move Back

David posted this on the Muni Diaries Facebook Page. Psst, up top: Please Love Back is watching your every move, so be nice out there.

Please Love Back is a Muni Diaries favorite — spotted so far on the 47-Van Ness and the 71-Haight/Noriega. We hope it makes you crack a smile, too. But let’s not diminish the importance of moving back, too. Please, for the love of god and all that is holy, move back on crowded buses.

If you’re on the go, send us stuff the quickie way by posting on our Facebook Wall and tweeting @munidiaries.

A Muni Metro’s Alternate Art Universe

The other day, we posted some art of the 15-Third line (aka, the “15-Fisherman Warf”). Lest we forget about the Metro, reader Carina sent us this image above, explaining:

I took this picture in the Sunset the other day – the Muni logo is clearly visible!

Indeedily, I love how you can identify the Muni worm from a mile away. I’m a little worried about the red-bootied person hanging out of the window, though.

And, yes, we know Metro LRVs don’t cross Haight and Ashbury, but I’m OK with some artistic freedom.

Mission Buses Rerouted for Upcoming Street Renovation

The 14, 14L, and 49 buses will be moved from Mission Street to South Van Ness for six months beginning early next month. MissionLocal reports that the reroute will span 14th to 26th streets to make way for roadwork in that area on Mission Street. Above, you’ll find a handy map of the affected area, via Mission Local.

So far, reaction ranges from “Oh, is this what that flier was about?” to “Really? We have to walk to Van Ness, practically the East Bay, to get on and off a bus?”

Thanks, MissionMission!

It’s in the Stars on Muni

In which an Aries tells it like it is (or like it should be) to a Leo on Muni. Color me initially skeptical, because “…it’s just that you have some really nice feet” rarely turns out well on the bus. @meganjelene sent this our way on the Twittersphere:

…”You’d be good with a Taurus guy.”

“Really? That’s crazy, both my parents are Taurus’ and they are the most stubborn people I know (well, other than me). I don’t think I’ve ever dated a Taurus.”

“Yeah,  Taurus or Sagittarius — another fire sign — ’cause they’d keep you entertained and going out to check out new things…” He then told me he was an Aries (another fire sign), although he didn’t recommend I’d be good with an Aries. 😉

His stop was before mine and he wished me a good night before pausing and deciding to ask me my name. I introduced myself and he told me his name was Lawrence and shook my hand. Along with his name, Lawrence gave me laughter, inspiration, the desire to look inward and a silly smirk I can’t wipe off my face.

So it goes: do we put mean face on or should we let it be and see what happens? This balance-seeking Libra wrestles with that question every time she gets on a 49. Either way, we always tell people about the guy we met on Muni, as crushworthy or cringe as he may be. Tell us about your guy or gal on Muni today.
