PeeWee

little boy pee 2So I’m riding Bart from the Powell St. station down to Millbrae. As you could imagine it was pretty packed and standing room only. Out of the corner of my eye I catch a glimpse of quite possibly the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen anywhere.

A woman had pulled her 3- or 4-year-old son’s pants down, pulled his little wee out, unscrewed the top of a soda bottle, stuck the little boys wee inside and then told him to pee.

The little boy stood there peeing inside of this soda bottle on a FULL train.

When the boy was done the woman put the cap back on the bottle, set it on the floor of the train, and then got off the train at the next stop.

Yes, she left the pee-filled bottle sitting on the floor.

If you’ve got a BART or Muni story you want to share, no matter what it’s about, send it us.

Oh god I’m mortified just reading this story! Ugh. If this is what motherhood requires, I think I am most definitely not ready.

It’s funny: I’m no parent, nor do I think I ever will be, but as I read this story, I saw a glimmer of hope, of responsibility. After all, the kid must’ve had to go. And the mom did the right thing by letting him pee in that cup. The fact that she left it behind, though, seriously dropped me off a cliff as a reader. I found myself right back in the “what the fuck is wrong with people?” camp. And there I remain …

Ah, Jeff, always looking for the silver (ahem, yellow) lining. Manner Ladies say “ew”.

second the Manner Ladies with a DOUBLE EW! — I have 2 kids and I’ve never let them pee in a bottle. i did let one pee behind a gas station because the attendant wouldn’t give us the key, though.

I can see letting your kid pee in a bottle if it’s guaranteed that there will be an accident otherwise (what’s worse? kid peeing on himself on the cloth seat or peeing in a bottle?)

But leaving the bottle? WTF?

Wow. I have no idea where to begin. I agree, with young kids having them pee into something if they can’t hold it is probably OK, but leaving it there is SO NOT OK.

Also: I love this post.

Seriously, that’s the most disgusting thing you’ve seen? How about the guy on the Muni who poops in his pants and stinks up the car? At least the woman had the decency to have the kid pee in a bottle – in China, parents regularly let their kids pee and poop on the bus seats. Nasty, for sure, but I’ve seen worse on Muni!

Strangely enough, this does not strike me as odd or out of the ordinary. Gotta love MUNI!
