Improvisational escalatoring at Van Ness Station

Saw almost exactly that this evening, on the up escalator from the Powell station muni platform. Same technique, only this was a manual wheelchair and the occupant was a jovial bearded guy who kept taking out his leather crop, whacking his palm and making everyone laugh.

I don’t blame him, the elevator at Van Ness station serves double duty as one of SF’s grossest bathrooms.
