Your Weekend Transit Advisory: Market St. repaving, Wharf Fest, Noe Valley festival, Visitacion Valley fair, Sunday Streets Richmond

Market Street Repaving Project
Beginning at 11 p.m., Friday and continuing through 7 p.m., Saturday, the San Francisco Department of Public Works (DPW) will repave five intersections on Market between 10th to 6th streets. At the same time, the San Francisco Public Utility Commission (SFPUC) will perform sewer work at the intersections of Grant Avenue, 9th and 10th streets at Market Street.

During the repaving work, no traffic will be allowed on Market Street, both directions between 11th and Turk Streets.

During the construction, Muni buses operating along Market Street between 11th and 3rd streets will be detoured onto Mission Street and will use existing Mission Streets bus stops. Muni buses which enter Market Street between Polk and Jones streets will be detoured onto Turk or Eddy streets and will use existing 31 Balboa line stops

The F Market & Wharves streetcar line will be substituted by bus shuttles between Castro and Fisherman’s Wharves.

The following Muni lines and routes will be re-routed:
L Owl
N Owl
5 Fulton
6 Parnassus
9 San Bruno
19 Polk
21 Hayes
71 Haight/Noriega

Traffic detours will be in place. To minimize travel delays, motorists should avoid this area and to use alternate routes.

Local access will be allowed.

Wharf Fest
On Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., each day, the Wharf Fest will take place at the Fisherman’s Wharf between Ghirardelli Square and Pier 39, on Jefferson Street and Beach Street. For event details, please visit www.visitfishermanswharf.com.

The following street closures will be required from midnight, Saturday until 12 a.m., Sunday:

Jefferson Street between Mason Street and Westerly Terminus
Beach Street between Larkin Street and Westerly Terminus
Polk Street between Beach and North Point streets
Intersection: Beach Street at Polk Street

The following Muni lines and routes will be affected:

Saturday
F Market & Wharves Line will be substituted with buses and will operate to Pier 39 only.

Sunday
F Market & Wharves Line will resume regular streetcar service and will operate to Pier 39 only.
Both Saturday and Sunday
19-Polk
39-Coit

Possible service delay and crowding will be expected on the following routes:
8X Bayshore Express
30 Stockton
47 Van Ness

Noe Valley Harvest Festival
On Saturday, the 9th annual Noe Valley Harvest Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on 24th Street between Church and Sanchez streets. For event details, please visit www.noevalleyharvestfestival.com.

The following street closures will be required from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.:
· 24th Street between Church and Sanchez streets
· Intersection: Vicksburg Street at 24th Street

The 48 Quintara-24th Street Muni route will be affected.

Visitacion Valley Street Fair
On Sunday, the annual Visitation Valley Festival and Street Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Leland Avenue at Bayshore Boulevard.

The following street closures will be required from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.:
· Leland Avenue between Bayshore Boulevard and Rutland Street
· Alpha Street between Leland Avenue and Raymond Avenue

The 56 Rutland Muni route will be affected.

Sunday Streets Richmond District
The final Sunday Streets event will be held this Sunday in the Richmond District. The route will spread between Funston Avenue and Arguello Boulevard on Clement Street and between Clement Street and Fulton Street on Arguello Boulevard. The route will be available for recreational activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free to all participants.

Clement Street between Funston Avenue and Arguello Boulevard
Arguello Boulevard between Clement Avenue and Fulton Street
Intersections: Clement, Anza and Cabrillo streets at Arguello Boulevard
2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 10th 11th and 12 avenues at Clement Street

Cross traffic will be allowed on:
2nd, 6th and 9th avenues at Clement Street
Fulton Street, Geary Boulevard, and Turk Street/Balboa Street at Arguello Boulevard

The following Muni routes will be affected:
2 Clement
33 Stanyan
44 O’Shaughnessy

Possible service delay will be expected on the following routes:
5 Fulton
31 Balboa
38 Geary
