Your Weekend Transit Advisory: Critical Mass, Giants FanFest, SF Half Marathon

Critical Mass
On Friday at 6 p.m., the Critical Mass bicycle ride will begin at Justin Herman Plaza.

There will be heavy traffic in the area. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time.

Giants FanFest
On Saturday, the 21st annual KNBR 680 Giants FanFest will take place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at AT&T Park. An attendance of more than 35,000 participants is expected. For more details, please visit www.sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com.

Terry Francois Boulevard between 3rd and Mission Rock streets will be closed between 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Motorists should expect delays on all bridges and freeways leading into San Francisco for at least two hours before the start of the event and for at least two hours after the end of the event. Fans attending the event are encouraged to take public transportation.

Muni customers may purchase their fare in advance at the following locations during the time specified:
Embarcadero Metro Station: 7 – 10 a.m.
AT&T Park: 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

San Francisco Half Marathon
On Sunday, the 31st annual Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Half Marathon will begin at 8 a.m. The race begins and ends in Golden Gate Park and is accompanied by a 5K run which stays completely in the park. For more event details, please visit www.xnet.kp.org.

The following street closures outside of Golden Gate Park will be required from 7:15 to 10 a.m. Each street will be reopened as the last runner goes through.

Oak Street from Stanyan Street to Baker Street
Fell Street from Stanyan Street to Baker Street
Baker Street from Oak Street to Fell Street
Masonic Street from Oak Street to Fell Street
Stanyan from Oak Street to Fell Street
Kezar Drive from Waller Street to JFK Drive

Both northbound and southbound Great Highway from Fulton Street to Skyline Boulevard will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon.

The following Muni routes will be affected:

18 46th Avenue
23 Monterey
33 Stanyan
43 Masonic
44 O’Shaughnessy
