Dept. of Oops: J-Church turns onto Market Street

File this one under “things being where they’re not supposed to be.”

Via the Muni Diaries Facebook page, Muni rider Jack sends this:

Hey Muni Diaries, my brother sent me this photo of a J-Church Breda car that accidentally turned right onto Market yesterday. It makes you wonder—after the new trains come, will the Bredas be historical F-line material?

Today becomes tomorrow’s yesterday. Or something.

You don’t see any of the Muni Metro’s original (pre-Breda) Boeing Vertol cars running on the F or E lines, so the new third-generation cars are unlikely to consign the Bredas to “Trolley Festival” status.

Boeing cars 1212-1213 (originally 1221-1222) did run on Market Street during the first Trolley Festival (they had trolley poles and pantographs being the test cars that first ran in the subway) but after they were retired, only 1213 ended up in a museum. Boeing car 1276 also went to a museum, too. As for the Bredas, who knows?
