Police Arrest Second Suspect in Muni Arson

The San Francisco Police Department arrested a second suspect in connection to the bus arson that happened on Oct. 29. According to the SFPD report:

Inspectors from the Department’s Special Investigations Division, which includes the Arson Task Force, arrested Nicholas Hudson, 19, of Daly City. He was arrested in South San Francisco at 10:15 A.M. and was later booked into San Francisco County Jail.

Hudson has been charged with vandalism, damaging or destroying a passenger transit vehicle, arson (all felonies), and a probation violation. Police credit the input and assistance from the public helping to identify Hudson.

The vandalism of Muni buses was clearly upsetting to many regular riders like you, judging from the submissions that flooded our inbox the day after the World Series game, including this disturbing video of rioters lighting the bus on fire. People were plenty upset in Twittersphere too:

Oh by the way, @PKittyTrisha asked if the driver was ok in the arson. He is, and was in fact honored for heroism.

The police are still looking for help identifying other suspects in the vandalism (photos on the SFPD news site)

If you have a tip regarding the vandalism, the SFPD is asking people to call the SFPD Special Investigations Division/Arson Task Force at (415) 920-2944, the Anonymous Tip Line (415) 575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text with SFPD.
