Tiger spotted on Muni
Or should it be, “tiger striped on Muni.” Heh, I crack myself up.
In any case, Melanie spotted the above wildlife. She thought you should know. We applaud her effort.

Where else would you erupt into an impromptu Rice-a-Roni sing-along? At Muni Diaries Live, of course! This time we packed in a queercore band, a great lineup of storytellers, plus a rematch of the Muni Haiku Battle. Here’s how it all went down.
Queercore band Lucky Jesus jump-started the show with a cover of Berlin’s “The Metro,” rewritten to fit San Francisco’s own crazy transit.

Additional photos of Lucky Jesus by Tara Lohan can be found here.
Bluto pondering why he killed Popeye. Olive Oyl writing a grief letter to Wimpy. All of this aboard our favorite transit system.

We are counting down the minutes until Saturday night when we present some deliciously wacky Muni tales at the Elbo Room! We’ve added our favorite Muni cartoonist Mike Capozzola to our lineup, and of course gift certificates to The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen and Southpaw BBQ for brave audience storytellers. And you’ll be there for the second showdown of our Muni Haiku Battle.
We’ll have tickets at the door if you don’t have an advanced ticket already.
Storytellers:
Mike Capozzola, cartoonist and pro Muni rider
Johnny Funcheap, master of frugal living
James Nestor, writer and reigning Muni Haiku champion
Anna Pulley, sex/relationship columnist and Muni haiku ninja
Kelly Beardsley, BART operator
Richie Nakano, chef at Hapa Ramen
Lucky Jesus unplugged!
Muni Haiku Battle is inspired by Dirty Haiku Battle, presented by our favorite Oakland show, Tourettes Without Regrets (first Thursday of every month at the Oakland Metro). You should definitely check it out every month. Like, seriously.
