As you might already know, the “long shutdown” of rail service to the N-Judah will start in about three hours. Muni will provide bus shuttles to service that and other affected routes. The agency is also encouraging walking and cycling over this holiday weekend and the entire span of 10 days that the line will be shut off to LRV service. For more info, click here.

Here are the rest of your Memorial Day weekend transit advisories:

Stories happen when you are going from point A to B on Muni, starring none other than your fellow Muni riders. I found a bunch of cool portraits of Muni riders on Instagram that I just had to share, including one below of two girls checking out their yearbooks on the bus. Oh, glorious youth.

If you have taken cool Muni photos, remember to tag us @munidiaries on Instagram so we can find you!

Enjoy these photos and your weekend!

100 Muni StoriesWe’ve seen our share of lost and found stories on Muni Diaries over the years. This one is technically only a “lost,” or so it would seem. @shanghaijim tweeted it:

“Did someone forget their G-string on the steps of the N early this morning? It’s on its way back downtown.”

The “G-String” should be a new Muni route, right?

100 Days, 100 Muni Stories is our way of celebrating Muni’s centennial year. Read this and other stories on our 100 Days, 100 Muni Stories page, and send us your story today!

100 Muni StoriesReal, honest-to-goodness Muni is found just as easily in 140 characters as it is in 1,400. To whit:

@alleekate418: On the T watching a man eat something out of his shoe.

What kind of shoe, I wonder? And are we talking M&Ms or mashed potatoes?

More Muni experiences await your eyeballs — check out the rest in our “100 Days, 100 Muni Stories Muni” celebration. And we still want to hear from you; send us your stories today, ’cause the best ones will be excerpted on a real-life Muni bus ad.
