It’s been a while since we’ve visited this favorite topic: Dudes who spread their legs all wide on public transit.
Had a conversation with coworkers about it yesterday, and now @amandarants posts the photo above.
WTF, guys? Not a rhetorical question. CUT. IT. OUT.
For historical reference, please see: Two-Seat-Takin’, Big-Balls-Havin’ Guy
Via @uppityfag, who says, “SUPERHEROES on the 47 Van Ness! I feel safe!” To which @amandarants retorts, “the dude in the background makes that photo.” Yep.
What’s happening on your bus today? Let us know.
Muni rider Charles passed this one along. SF resident Eli Noyes drew some stamps for the Postal Service’s “Go Green” stamp series.
Noyes says he let life in San Francisco inspire his work on the stamps. Naturally, there’s a stamp with a bus on it. Muni looks good in green, no?
Read about Noyes and the stamps at SFGate.
And yes, we see the irony of the Postal Service’s message, “Go green” with “by using dead-tree mail” implied. Still!

Here’s what he has to say about the new piece (available at Society6):
I love public transportation. When I travel to different cities I always seek out the adventure of public transportation. There is something magical about emerging from a subway station in a strange city for the first time. This new piece is made up of public transportation maps from around the world. From the San Francisco Bay Area’s Muni, AC Transit and BART to DC’s Metro, to London’s Underground and many more.
