100 Muni StoriesToday is the last day of our “100 Days, 100 Muni Stories” contest, which means: you can get on a bus, point to an ad, and say to your friend/date/random passenger next to you, “Hey, I wrote that.”

We’re celebrating 100 years of Muni by putting a part of your Muni story on a bus ad that will be displayed in the interior of all Muni surface buses. And you only have a few hours to send your stories (tweets too), because we’re closing the contest at 11:59 p.m. today.

Our guest judge is Isaac “Mr. Rad” Fitzgerald, managing editor of The Rumpus (have you subscribed to their Letters In The Mail program yet?), who will help us choose two winners from the pool.

Here’s SFMTA’s warnings about disrupted Muni service this weekend.

Critical Mass
On Friday the monthly Critical Mass bicycle ride will leave from Justin Herman Plaza sometime after 6 p.m.

Motorists and transit riders may be delayed as the bicycle ride passes. Roads will reopen as soon as bicyclists have passed.

SF Marathon
On Sunday the annual San Francisco Marathon will begin from The Embarcadero and Mission at 5:30 a.m., with staggered starts until 6:40 a.m. The race route will loop north along The Embarcadero, through the Presidio, the outer Richmond District, Golden Gate Park, the Haight, the Mission District, Inner Bayview and back to The Embarcadero. An attendance of up to 20,000 runners is expected.

“Sorry About the Dog Shit Thing on Muni This Morning”

Sorry for smelling like dog shit on the bus – m4w – 25 (financial district)

Date: 2012-07-19, 9:39AM PDT

To everybody that was riding the 2 (or was it the 3?) bus inbound to the Financial District on Thursday, July 19 (around 8:30 a.m.)

I sincerely apologize for potentially getting dog shit on you. It wasn’t my intention.

Let me explain: I walked to the bus stop, like I do every morning. Typically, my eyes are focused on avoiding bikers and homeless people.Now, I know that I must add shit to this list, because apparently, I stepped in it.

When I sat down on the bus, I crossed my legs, like I usually do. When people cross their legs, the bottom of their shoes usually touches their pants leg. It’s only natural, you guys. Unfortunately, on this day, the bottom of my shoe had shit on it.

To the pretty blonde girl I was sitting next to: I think I might have gotten some of the poo on ya. Sorry about that.

To the guy on the other side in the Yankees hat: I might have gotten doo-doo on you too. Again, my sincere apologies.

To everybody else on the bus, let’s be clear- I did not shit myself. I see a lot of you every morning and would appreciate it if I wasn’t known as “the guy that might have shit himself that one morning.”

And lastly, to whoever let their dog take a dump on the sidewalk without cleaning it up- F you, buddy.
