Here’s a Perfect San Francisco-Inspired Wedding Photo

muni stop wedding bride groom by mariel_v

We found this great wedding shot on Instagram by Mariel Villaluz, who photographed the beautiful bride and groom at the Muni stop. I love that the groom is looking to see when the bus is coming. I hope they’re not late for something important.

By the way, here’s more ideas to take your wedding (or just any party) up a notch by making everything Muni-themed (Fast Passes on little boxes of Muni-shaped chocolates? Check, check, and check).

Couple who met on BART celebrate 15 years of marriage

Anna and Dentrick McNorton met on BART 19 years ago and got married a few years later, proving that budding romance, alongside measles and rage over bike-related rule breaks, can also incubate on those trains.

Their story reminds us of friends of Muni Diaries Nick and Lisa, who also had a chance encounter on BART. They even incorporated BART blue into the wedding design!

Congratulations, you crazy kids.

Muni Missed Connection: Punk Guy

Every once in a while, Muni riders emerge from their self-imposed bubbles. Even rarer: They see someone who catches their eye, and perhaps even their … libido.

Such a thing happened to Muni rider Adrianna.

I really wish I got that guy’s number on the Muni today
Please help me! He was tall, green eyes, had black converse on, has a lip piercing, and was soooo cute. I hope he has a tumblr and sees this. Dear Punk Guy, I want your number.
Sincerely,
The cute short girl with the braids and black beanie

Okay, Punk Guy and/or Punk Guy’s friends. Get on it!

Muni Missed Connection: What are you reading, hot guy?

hotguy

Reading is sexy. I mean, you’re doing it right now. You’re sexy.

But bacon meets hotdog has cast a line.

this hot guy on muni is probably foreign (he has weird tennis shoes).

perhaps he’s reading some book that gives him a snapshot of american life and culture? his pouty lips say “i’m not impressed.” a man after my own heart!

hot guys on muni have been sparse lately. mostly because the damn munis are so packed i can’t get decent shots.

Hot guys on Muni, where have you gone?

Also, what’s up, flipflops girl with feet on the seat?

Video: Caltrain Surprise Wedding Proposal

We just found Aaron’s rot-your-teeth-sweet wedding proposal on Caltrain! Aaron and Maggie actually first met on Caltrain in 2008. To propose to his special lady, Aaron packed a Caltrain car full of their friends and family for a super sweet surprise.

From Aaron: “After a month of scheming and trying to come up with an innocuous excuse for Maggie to ride on Caltrain, she decided to have a “Craft Day” with her painting buddies. Little did she know we had crafted another plan…

I had assembled friends and family to help celebrate my proposal to Maggie on Caltrain. At the 22nd St San Francisco station, we all began to sing “We Are Young” by Fun as Maggie boarded the car…”

The rest, as they say, is in the YouTube video!

Missed Connection: You Finished My Sentences at MacArthur BART

Alia of On Transit had a missed connection at the MacArthur BART station, involving Proust, neuroscience, and what could have been. Help a fellow rider out. Did you read over Alia’s shoulders the other day and finish her sentences? Are you the one?

“Excuse me, but do you mind my asking—what’s your major?”

I look up from Proust Was A Neuroscientist, wishing not for the first time that I could answer, “English” or “Neuroscience” or “Just so you know, I could read real science books if I wan-ted.”

Instead: “Oh … I’m not a student.”

“I just saw the UC Berkeley stamp. I’m sorry, I was reading over your shoulder—I know I shouldn’t do that, but it looked really interesting—”

“Believe me,” I interrupt, “I’m the last person you should apologize to for that. And it is pretty interesting, it’s —”

Now he interrupts me. “The part about how we need change to learn, that’s—”

“I know! The book is about how literature and science—

“Yes, I saw a thing once about technology that—

“Right, but this is more like—”
