Over at Muni Time Capsule this morning, we posted a photo of some Muni maps from the decade leading up to the Great Depression. The charm here is anything but depressing.
Have a look — there’s even an instance of “Muny” as an actual acronym!
From the field, @franoero reports: “Someone pooped their pants on muni.” We’ve all been there … smelling the poop, I mean. Also, open a window already, YOU GUYS!
Ken snapped these photos and threw them up on Instagram. I bet that thing wouldn’t have any trouble barreling down Judah.
Talia posted this on the Muni Diaries Facebook Page! She says it was in a book, as an inadvertent donation to the Friends of the SF Library.

The proposal was approved by the SFMTA board a few years ago, but opposition from then-Mayor Newsom pushed the idea off the table. Now it’s seeing a second life.
What do you think of the idea of increasing parking meter hours to cover Muni’s $19.6 million deficit over the next fiscal year? Will it work?
