Last Saturday we celebrated our fourth birthday with a party at the Make-Out Room where we shared margaritas and chicharoones and mugged in front of the Orange Photography photobooth, all to tunes from the golden age of hip hop.

One of the best surprises that evening came from rider Christa, who brought these cool Fast Pass name tags for everybody just for fun!You might remember Christa’s other crafty endeavor, a 22-Fillmore Moleskin notebook.

So thoughtful! Reminds me of the time when Rachel brought these cute Muni line mini cupcakes to Muni Diaries Live.

We just added one more very good reason for you to come to our 4th birthday DJ party this Saturday: free margaritas!

The nice folks at Young’s Market and el Jimador are giving everyone free margs Saturday night while supplies last! So you can wash down the Chairman Bao buns you just bought, or the 4505 chicharonnes that we’ll have for the first 30 people who ask.

A couple of readers have asked us whether there will be storytelling at the party: unlike our regular events, the birthday party is just a DJ party to celebrate our birthday! Well, not just a DJ party but a DJ party with free margaritas, photobooth, and door prizes! Our regular spoken word events will be back in July.

If you’ve had the Chairman’s pork buns or spicy duck mango buns, you’ll know why we’re so excited. My mouth is watering right now. The Chairman is rarely in the Mission on Saturdays so be sure to come and pay your respect.

Muni turns 100 this year, and we want to celebrate it with your Muni stories. After all, we think that’s the best part about riding the bus. Today we’re launching our “100 Days, 100 Muni Stories” story drive: submit a Muni story in the next 100 days and a portion of your story can end up on a bus ad!

Your Muni story can be long, short, or even a funny tweet. We’ll choose two of the best stories on Muni Diaries — thanks to SFMTA’s help, portions of the winning stories will appear on advertisements inside the bus. Yes, your clever wit and your name can make an appearance on buses citywide.
