Cat Wants To Get From Point A to B

When you are a woman who owns a cat or two, you don’t want to go too crazy with cat stuff because people will assume you have zero social/sex life (is there a difference?). You want to keep it low-key, like, “Oh are those all photos of my cat on my Facebook page? Oh yeah I own a cat, no biggie.”

Except…unless…you are this awesome lady who has an awesome bag with an awesome cat in it on Muni, then you should rock out like it’s nobody’s business!

Caltrain Snack Train

Two things are hard to come by on Caltrain: the pimp seat* and a cup holder. So when you can’t find a place to rest your coffee and muffin, other riders might not be so happy. I realize this might sound whiny to Muni and BART riders, but as a customer of all three transit services, I can sympathize with reader CopperJet, who found the remnants of a delicious breakfast on the train the other day. CopperJet said,

You know who you are.
I am underwhelmed by your dedicated courtesy-ness.
Thanks for the wondrous treat which greeted me as I boarded car 1 (just behind the engine) of Train 134 this morning just before 9:00.
Who do you think cleaned up your messy-mess?

Hey it wasn’t me, CopperJet. That looks like Starbucks and I’m a slave to last-minute Caltrain Station coffee.

Drawn on Muni

Victor had an unusual ride on Muni recently.

I was coming home one afternoon and I sat near the front of the bus. It was less crowded. It was less stinky. A few older people sat around me … and a kid. I say kid because I’m old now and anyone under thirty seems like a kid. The kid appeared to be in his early twenties. Skinny. Nerdy glasses. T-shirt. Jeans. Muni rider #567890. I suppose that’s why I hardly noticed him. He didn’t make much eye contact with me and I didn’t with him either. We were on the bus together for maybe seven minutes.

My stop arrived. I got up and stepped down the backdoor stairs. Suddenly, I felt a hand grabbing my shoulder pulling me back. In a quick “WTF!” reaction, I spun around and saw the Asian kid standing above me holding a piece of paper. He didn’t say anything. He just moved the paper closer to me and slightly cocked his head down.

Read the conclusion to Victor’s story on his website.
