What’s the most awkward thing you’ve carried on Muni?

Muni Diaries reader Casey reported the latest awkward strange cargo that someone took on Muni because that’s how you get around town:

When you have to take a streetcar to transport a spare tire to the nearest gas station! Thank goodness the train driver was kind enough to drop her off near the gas station.

Aw.

Whether it’s a giant bubble wrap, a full-size mattress, or Saint Jude himself, our strange cargo report has you covered. Tag us on Instagram #munidiaries to submit your own report!

Impromptu BART Jam Session

One of the best perks about playing a portable instrument is probably being able to jam with other musicians whenever you want! These guys on BART decided to do just that.

We wish we had a video of what they were playing but it does look like fun. If you’re find yourself in an impromptu jam session (or chamber trio, or just solo harp performance) in transit, let us know!

This BART diary entry came from @lovelysage on Instagram. Got your own noteworthy moment on the go? Tag us #munidiaries on Instagram to add your own slice of life.

Bonus: guitar-loving hobo cat makes an appearance at BART.

Giant balloon takes Muni to the party

What if someone just walked up and popped this?

Bubble wrap. Skinny roads on mountain tops. Balloons. Some situations in life strike intense, nearly inexplicable urges in some of us.

Case in point: This Muni rider, clearly giving zero fucks, transported a rather large balloon on the bus last week. Lucky for them, friend of Muni Diaries Beth resisted that urge of urges. We hope that wherever this balloon was headed received it enthusiastically.

Powell Station Windows computer needs restarting

powell-station-windows

Redditer @neptuneful saw this throwback cry for help at Powell Station the other day. “Windows has computer.” Hmm. But can the computer has Windows?

Another Redditer swears to have heard the Windows boot-up sound play over the speakers at Montgomery BART once upon a time.

Other commuters found a bone to pick: the kind of ’80s font on the new signage. At least that’s easier to read (and decipher) than “Windows has computer”?
