Tara’s at 24th Street, stuck for about 20 minutes. They’re saying “police action” at 24th and Mission, but of course, aren’t being clear about a) what’s going on, or, more importantly, b) how long it might take to clear up. I realize it’s mostly commuters, but giving riders clear alternatives just seems … sensible.
It might be clearing up now. Hard to tell. Just a lot of garbled messages over the PA.
Anyone know what’s going on? Post in comments, please.
Good for SFMTA’s executive director, announcing a move that will save the agency at least a piss-in-the-pot $40K. But I’m waiting for him to go the way of Big Three auto execs, and announce a salary sacrifice of $1/year.

The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday discussed the controversial congestion pricing plan, as detailed by the Chronicle Wednesday.
Some really good ideas here, like using toll funds to pay for bus rapid transit, or a free transit zone downtown. A lot of kinks to work out, including designing the zone itself, and how much to charge, but I love that they’re talking about this.
Am at Fillmore and Sutter. First sign for the 22 said 2 minutes. Then 3. Then 2 again. Then 10. Now 8.

a friend was over for drinks on sunday evening and mentioned that his girlfriend has experienced a tale of horror on the n judah this past saturday. she was sitting near the back in an aisle seat, listening to her ipod when she felt something tickling her cheek. moments later she realized there was a rock hard penis in her face.
a young man had pulled out his junk and was rubbing on her ear/face. startled, she jumped up and said “what the fuck!?!”. to her surprise none of the other passengers seemed to take issue. the young man continued to wave his wand around in the air near her seat. she shoved her way past him, then walked to the front of the bus, told the driver, and got off at the next stop — in shock.
a daily rider, she has not boarded muni since.
San Francisco musician Shane Papatolicas shares a song about a ride on Muni, specifically along the famed 38-Geary line.
We haven’t had the good fortune to see him perform yet, but here’s an excerpt of a review of Papatolicas at San Fran Voice:
