It’s all about that Muni bass …
Furthering the “You guys think of everything” narrative, Muni rider Nate tweeted the above. “Badonkadonk #BootySF” indeed.
Wouldn’t a real Muni route that looked like this be so. much. fun?
Your place to share stories on and off the bus.

Remember #lifebeforethestorm? Yeah, I didn’t think you would. There was this thing called no rain. It was strange and wonderful. Somehow, we all survived it.
But enough reminiscing. Onward to the most remarkable Muni moments of the week!
This week’s Things on Muni is brought to you by fellow riders @jocelynslai, @bbunnykat, @theEddieH, @faern_me, and @pjrocks. Be like them: Follow @munidiaries on Twitter. You, too, could experience the glory.

You know how sometimes you just stumble upon greatness unintentionally? That happened to us when we were planning last month’s Muni Diaries Live.
One rando day I saw someone post a Throwback Thursday photo of herself and her dad, decked out as he was in an honest-to-goodness Muni operator uniform. I followed the breadcrumb trail to Klee Wiggins, daughter of a Muni bus driver.
Fast forward to that night in November at the Elbo Room, when we were all treated to 12 minutes of delightful and hilarious and touching stories of growing up in a Muni family.
Check out Klee’s performance at Muni Diaries Live.

A popular thread running through this site (and our Twitter and Facebook pages) is complaints about rowdy or harmful passengers riders and the rest of our failure to do or say anything. Well, Dhaya has enough, y’all.
Today on the bus a young man was blasting on his phone what seemed like two engines fighting each other, which was in reality “music.” Although Muni has a sign that says “No Radios,” clearly Muni is run by old fogies who don’t know mobile devices can play “music.”
When the young man asked, “Hey any requests what do you wanna hear?” out loud, I took the opportunity.
“I believe I speak for the entire back of the bus, when I say ‘We request mute.'”
He got upset and said “That’s some SF liberal bullshit.”
I said, “Damn right!”
Then his friend nudged him as if to say, “Don’t mess with those kind.”
Then the other bus patrons smiled at me, while continuing to take inaction.
I just mom’d someone and I’m so excited about this new found superpower.
I hereby nominate Dhaya Muni Manners Sheriff. The terms lasts a lifetime. What say, Dhaya?
They make us laugh. They make us cry. They make us want to flail randomly and take out anything that might get in our way. They are Muni moments. These are our favorites this week:
This edition of Things on Muni is brought to you by your fellow Muni riders @nffo, @fieldingatgully, @seismogenic, @divianne, and @katiejosells. Follow @munidiaries and you, too, can be featured in our weekly roundup of things on Muni.
As we give our thanks and sit down to our feast of choices, it’s really the little things that I’m thankful for as a Muni rider.
1. A friendly warning to weird substances on the seat. Aw, look at this friendly Post-It note on a Muni seat to warn you away from questionable liquid on the seat (rule number one: it’s not water.) Photo via @3nsnared_in_the_brambl3 on Instagram.
2. Cute animals riding the bus. Aw, a kitty in a shopping basket on Muni? How can you resist? Thanks @tashahasfun for spotting this cutie.
3. Getting the bus all to yourself. Those rare times when you’re the only passenger on the bus. It’s like your own $2.25 chariot.

4. When the bus driver waits an extra second for you as you sprint up the block. Makes my day every time.

5. People yelling “Back Door” for fellow riders. It’s a San Francisco tradition, really.
